A very rare Austrian late 19th C. Officers damascus sword. This example has a well made oversized guard in very nice condition with all of the original plating. The scabbard is regimentally marked on both sides of the upper scabbard fitting.

The blade is a work of art nearly fully etched on both sides with martial slogans and a presentation inscription. The damascus pattern is clearly visible and is a very fine wavy pattern. The blade is maker marked to Wyersberg and Stamm Solingen and to the distributor and maker of the sword in Vienna.

40" OAL, 32" blade, 1 1/4" wide
