# Rare Lamellar Damascus 19th Chinese Qing Officer Yanmadao Sword

A fine 19th C. yanmadao Qing officer sword. This example is much nicer than other examples with a wonderful lamellar damascus blade, much of the pattern visible throughout the blade. An uncommon style of blade with an upswept edge this type of sword is alsocalled a peidao. Very nice condition. Blade is solid to the hilt. The fittings are gilt brass with sharkskin, much of the sharkskin is missing bellow the middle fitting. Overall length is 33", blade is 23", 1 3/8" wide at the copper tunkou, 1/4" thick at ricasso.
