Indian daggers with horsehead handles are renowned for their artistry and historical significance. Originating primarily during the Mughal period, these daggers were symbols of power and nobility, often presented as ceremonial gifts or marks of honor. They were especially popular in regions such as Rajasthan, Punjab, and Deccan.

The handles, intricately carved in the form of horse heads, reflected both strength and loyalty—qualities revered by warriors. These hilts were crafted from materials such as jade, horn, and precious metals like gold and silver, often adorned with jewels and cloisonné inlays.

Blades varied widely but typically featured curved, single-edged forms, such as khanjar or pesh-kabz designs. Some blades showcased intricate Damascus steel patterns or wootz steel, prized for its sharpness and resilience. These daggers were not just weapons but also masterpieces of artistry, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of Indian metallurgy and craftsmanship.
