A nice original WWII Japanese Army Gunto sword. This example is signed Nagata Sukenori, who was a smith who made swords in Seki in Gifu prefecture. The blade is in nice condition with a prominent wavy hamon throughout. The tip of the blade has some dark spots and age, please see the pictures. The scabbard has the leather combat cover over a wooden core. A nice original katana sword. Overall length is 38 1/2", blade cutting edge is 25".
