A fine example of an early 19th C. Greek or Ottoman era flintlock pistol. This example is heavy and mounted in solid silver with niello highlights of a fine quality workmanship. The butt displays finely cast and chiseled fluting of very pleasing design. The pistol is of the period of the Greek War of Independence and was likely used during that time period.
Barrel has inset stamps that are likely indications of Italian 18th C. manufacture.
Overall length is 15.
