Excellent Fully Silver Mounted 19th C. Ottoman Turkish Yataghan Sword

An excellent piece, this yataghan is fully silver mounted with a beautiful carved and detailed silver scabbard in perfect condition with no dents or losses. The handle is silver and niello mounted with inscriptions in panels on bothsides. There are some very slight losses on the handle but which do not detract from the overall appearance.

The blade is an excellent Turkish ladder pattern damascus blade with a carved inscription and gold koftgari inscriptions on both sides of the blade and in silver niello at the forte of the blade.

A very uncommonly fine quality yataghan. Quite heavy due to the heavy carved silver work.
