A very nice example of an Indian khulah khud, likely from the Lahore area. E. Jaiwant Paul dates examples like this to the 17and 18C. however we are conservative in dating and will place this later acknowledging that it is possibly earlier. This example is finely chiseled in a soft design style reminiscent of the finest soft floral designs of Mughal jades and is very well made with an unscrewing top plume holder and fine nasal protective iron piece. Good condition throughout, with the remains of completely covering silver koftgari, and the original cap on the inside of the iron skull.
