Fine 18th C. Safavid Persian Dagger (kard) with chiseled watered wootz blade خنجر

    Description

    A very nice example of a late18th -19th C. Persian kard with a beautifully chiseled blade ricasso with the remains of gold inlays. The handle is made of water buffalo horn and the handle fitting is iron with engraved decoration. The scabbard is original to the dagger and is in the typical Persian style.

    Overall length is 14 1/2 in scabbard, blade is 8 1/2.
