Fine 19th C. French Dagger in the Mameluke Style

Sold

    Description

A beautiful ebony and gilt brass mounted French dagger with an etched blade in the Mameluke style. This dagger is a smaller version fo the French Versaille made daggers for the Mamluke Guard during the Napoleonic era. The blade on this example is etched with an M to signify the Mamluke origin. The inner wooden lining of the scabbard is missing so the blade is slightly loose in the scabbard but this is an easy fix.

Overall length is 9 3/4, blade is 6.
