A hefty and large 19th kindjal with an exceptionally rare early 19th C. Georgian blade chiseled with images and formed of true bulat twist core damascus steel. This example is mounted with a walrus handle, dispaying a small crack, but totally structurally sound. The heavy double edged blade is chiseled throughout with fine motifs and has a fine bulat twistcore structure evident in the finely formed fullers. The scabbard is beautiful made of chiseled silver with quite unique and likely southern Russian designs, somewhat different from most Caucasian designs. Very fine niello work throughout.
Overall length is 21, blade is 2 wide and quite thick,
