A very finely crafted and original 19th C. Chinese Qing period jian. This example is of superlative quality with a very finely forged and sharp blade made of true damascus with fine etching on the ricasso on either side. The handle is covered in finely made sharkskin. The scabbard is lacquered sharkskin with nicely patined brass and an especially finely crafted middle hanger with a heavy relief dragon. A very finely made example of these types of jians.
