Oversized 19th C. Antique Qing Dynasty Chinese Dao Jian Sword or Saber

A very large and well made antique 19th C. Chinese dadao or dao sword. This example has a blade forged from good quality steel, possibly of lamellar pattern, with a pronounced yelman in the Turkish shape. The oversized handle is wrapped in the traditional style with finely patinaed brass fittings. All completely tight.

Sword is very large at 44 and well balanced in hand.
