A very fine quality 19th C. Indian tulwar sword with a heavy and very finely made pattern welded blade of fine and variegated design. The base of the blade has an inscription in what appears to be Sanskrit under one of the quillons. The blade has a chiseled cartouche with Arabic caligraphy. The hilt is in the Sindh or Oudh style of more slender design. Original scabbard, Overall length is 37.
